- August 7, 2010 was designated as “Yu-Na Kim Day” in Los Angeles, California, and she received honorary citizenship, when she visited to receive the “Proud Korean Award” from the Korean American Leadership Foundation (also awarded was Sammy Lee, the two-time Olympic gold medalist in men’s diving in 1948 and 1952).
